| Oaxaca, Mexico Cooking, Crafts and Cultural Tours |
Oaxaca has been designated by UNESCO as a world heritage city. From its magnificent colonial churches to its
wonderful Zocalo (town square), from the ancient city of Monte Alban to the crafts villages it is easy to see why.
And then there's the cuisine - famous throughout Mexico and increasingly attaining world renown among
food connoisseurs. This is surely one of the great food cities of the world.
And the crafts - rug weaving, pottery, wood carving, paper making - a veritable cornucopia waiting for
you.
And the culture - world class museums, art galleries, colonial era churches and buildings, music -
it's all there for you.
To Grandmother's House We Go has been bringing people to Oaxaca since 1994 to experience first hand
Oaxacan cooking, culture and people. You will have the opportunity to learn from some of Oaxaca's
most outstanding cooks (see bios), sample its wonderful cuisine and see its sites.
February is a great time to visit - the nights are cool, the days warm and rain is rare.
February 21 - 28, 2011 we offer a tour limited to no more than 8-10 people:
featuring cooking classes with Oaxacan women in their homes, cultural touring and opportunities to shop for Oaxaca's
fine crafts directly from the craftspeople.
